PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (CBS12) — A manis accused of fleeing a hit-and-run only to be involved in another traffic crash later at a parent pickup line.
According to the Port St. Lucie Police Department (PSLPD), the minor crash occurred at 3:16 p.m. at the St. Lucie West K-8 parent pickup line.The caller told officers that the driver, identified as Brian Hicks, seemed drunk as he tried to flee the scene.
PSLPD says a School Resource Deputy with the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office was able to stop Hicks and detain him.

Further investigation into Hicks found that before the crash at the school, he had fled a hit-and-run crash on SW Port St. Lucie Boulevard and SW Gatlin Boulevard.
Hicks was booked on counts of DUI with damage to the property of another, a DUI, a DUI with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.15 or higher, driving with a suspended license and driving while the license is revoked.
