John F. Kennedy’s grandson slammed for making ‘bizarre’ jokes about Second Lady Usha Vance

Jack Schlossberg, grandson of former U.S. President John F. Kennedy, found himself at the center of controversy this week after sharing a string of provocative social media posts—culminating in a bizarre joke involving Vice President J.D. Vance’s wife, Usha Vance.

The uproar began on April 6, 2025, when Schlossberg took to X (formerly Twitter) to announce, “I’m having a son!! So excited about this. Cannot wait for the birth of my next child because today was the best day of my life. Out of wedlock, yes. But we might get married.”

He echoed the same message on Instagram, attaching a caption that read, “We named Jason Schlossberg! 5 lbs 0 ounces. April 6, 2025.”

The situation escalated further when Schlossberg shared a photoshopped image on Instagram featuring Usha Vance cradling a baby whose face had been replaced with his own adult face—partially covering the child’s head. The post was captioned: “Little Jason and his mom. You never feel like you’re ready to be a parent. Until one day, you become one.”

This digitally altered image drew attention from People magazine, which published a side-by-side collage of Schlossberg and the Vance family. Schlossberg then reposted a screenshot of the coverage, adding, “The joke is that I’m capable of producing a male heir,” in an apparent attempt to explain his intent.

Social media users were quick to criticize the posts. On X, one person commented, “Such a troll, his grandfather would be ashamed…” while another said, “You’re an embarrassment.” A third user urged him to “Delete this, and get help.”

Although this incident generated the most visible backlash to date, it wasn’t the first time Schlossberg referenced the Vance family in a provocative manner. Back on January 20, 2025, he tweeted, “True or false: Usha Vance is way hotter than Jackie O,” referring to his own grandmother, former First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis.

The next day, he followed up with another controversial post: “I’m a literal pervert. I called my grandmother hot… have I totally lost it? Jesus … this kid will do anything for attention. Your grandfather would be ashamed. Seriously. Time to get a job.”

In early March, Schlossberg shared another doctored image showing Usha Vance seemingly kissing his cheek, captioned: “My love my sweet Ushie.”

Addressing his online behavior during a televised interview with MSNBC host Jen Psaki, Schlossberg offered insight into his social media strategy. He acknowledged deliberately provoking reactions, saying, “The internet is a place where it’s difficult to break through. Especially if you’re not saying something that’s controversial or at least somehow unexpected.”

He added, “I use my judgment to make posts that I think are funny or silly but have a purpose—either to make you think, ‘this guy’s crazy. Why is he talking about his own family that way?’”

Explaining his philosophy further, Schlossberg said, “To be honest, then you get all these retweets, quotes, and everybody flips out about it—and I think that’s kind of the game that the other side’s been playing really well. Flipping people out and getting a reaction is almost half the battle.”

When asked who he enjoys trolling the most, Schlossberg pointed to his past social content aimed at both Vice President J.D. Vance and his own cousin: “The hey J.D. videos did pretty good online. But I think my cousin RFK Jr. is a menace.”
