If Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark gets her wish, one of the top actors in Hollywood will one day come watch her team in action at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
The 23-year-old Clark began her sophomore WNBA season last Saturday, leading the Fever to a 93-58 victory over Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky. Clark is averaging 23.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 10.5 assists per game over her first two contests of 2025.
For a video posted by CBS Sports and their popular “We Need to Talk” program on Instagram, Indiana players were asked to name which person they want at courtside for a game. Clark went with “Dune” and “Wonka” star Timothée Chalamet:
“Timothée Chalamet. I think we’re going to get him to a game. So, Timmy, he’ll be here,” Caitlin Clark said.
Some other compelling picks: Kelsey Mitchell and Aliyah Boston chose another A-lister actor in Michael B. Jordan. DeWanna Bonner wants tennis legend Serena Williams, who recently became part-owner of the expansion WNBA Toronto Tempo franchise.
Caitlin Clark has single-handedly created a much larger global following for the WNBA. Last year, the league announced a 48-percent increase in fan attendance and 154 game sellouts, with 22 games averaging at least one million viewers.
Clark still has her critics (see Angel Reese) and doubters, but the data doesn’t lie. She has brought the WNBA to new heights in just a single year, and to think that she only began her sophomore season five days ago.
Clark’s Fever fell just short of a 2-0 start, losing 91-90 at home to the Atlanta Dream on Tuesday night. The two clubs will wrap up their home-and-home in Atlanta at State Farm Arena, with tip-off slated for 7:30 p.m. EST.
Indiana will then travel home for a home game against the New York Liberty on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. EST.
