Scottie Scheffler enjoys his 146th week as the World No.1 following the 2025 John Deere Classic. In this article we list the world’s top 100 players according to the Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) system as of Monday 7 July 2025.
Of course, the OWGR can be taken with a pinch of salt in 2025.
That’s because LIV Golf League events, which feature many of the world’s best, are still shut out when it comes to receiving OWGR points.
Therefore the only way LIV Golf players can earn OWGR points is via the majors, DP World Tour and Asian Tour events.
Then again, there can be no denying Scheffler, 29, is a deserved leader no matter how you want to look at world order right now.
Scheffler won seven official PGA Tour titles last season among nine worldwide victories, including a first Olympic gold medal in Paris.
The American has since gone on to win three times so far this season, highlighted by a third career major title at the PGA Championship in May to hoist him half way to the career grand slam.
Scheffler’s current OWGR points tally is a whopping 17.94 heading into this week’s Genesis Scottish Open on the PGA Tour and DP World Tour.
The runaway World No.1 remains well clear at the top of the board with Rory McIlroy, who completed the career grand slam at The Masters in April, in second on 10.79 points.
Scheffler has now been World No.1 for a cumulative 146 weeks and a consecutive 111 weeks.
He ranks third in the all-time list for most weeks at World No.1 behind Greg Norman (331 weeks) and record holder Tiger Woods (683 weeks).
To put things even more into perspective as to just how dominant Woods, now 49, was in his prime, the 15-time major champion and record-tying 82-time PGA Tour winner achieved a record 32.44 world ranking points on 3 June 2001.
That is nearly double Scheffler’s OWGR points tally at the moment.
Xander Schauffele (6.90), Justin Thomas (6.14) and Collin Morikawa (6.04) make up the top five in the OWGR ahead of the Genesis Scottish Open.
Brian Campbell, who became the sixth multiple winner on the PGA Tour this season with a second win at the John Deere Classic, has now vaulted from 115th to a career-best ranking of 55th.
Elsewhere, England’s Daniel Brown, who won an emotional second DP World Tour title at the BMW International Open, rises from 170th to a career-best 104th.
Bryson DeChambeau, who is defending the U.S. Open title, is LIV Golf’s top player in the world rankings in 13th.
GolfMagic has listed the world’s official top 100 players below.
