People Call For Ed Sheeran To Be ‘Canceled’ After He’s Pictured Drinking With Johnny Depp<>

The unlikely trio of Ed Sheeran, Johnny Depp, and Russell Crowe appeared together in a selfie that has sparked calls for Sheeran to be ‘cancelled.’ The “Bad Habits” singer was seen drinking Guinness with Depp and Crowe while they socialized backstage at an Andrea Bocelli concert near Florence. Will Smith and his son Jaden were also present backstage.

Russell Crowe shared the selfie on his X account, captioning it: “Teatro del Silenzio backstage shenanigans with Teddy & Johnny. Lubrication by Guinness. Perfect. Grazie Mille Maestro Andrea Bocelli. What an incredible experience.” The photo showed all three stars smiling and holding pints of Guinness.

The post, meant to be light-hearted, received backlash from Sheeran’s fans due to Johnny Depp’s controversial past, particularly his high-profile defamation case with ex-wife Amber Heard in 2022. Despite winning the US trial, Depp remains a divisive figure, especially after losing a UK libel case in 2020 where the court upheld The Sun’s description of him as a ‘wife beater.’

Reactions on social media were swift. One user commented, “I officially dislike Ed Sheeran,” while another wrote, “NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.” A third asked, “Can we cancel the ginger now?” and someone else declared, “Well that’s Russell and Ed cancelled. Hanging out with that guy. Really?” Another person expressed disappointment with a gif of Tyra Banks shouting, “I was rooting for you, we were all rooting for you! How dare you!”

Despite the criticism, some fans were delighted to see the celebrities together. One person commented, “Oh my goodness! So much love, so many legends, so much awesomeness in this epic picture!” Another remarked, “What a handsome trio. Legends!” and a third added, “Man, that’s a crew alright! How could you not have some fun?”

All the stars had roles in Bocelli’s show: Ed Sheeran performed a duet with the tenor, Johnny Depp played guitar during a tribute to English guitarist and Depp’s friend Jeff Beck, and Russell Crowe showcased his vocal talents with an on-stage appearance.
