Carthage Boy Dies in Boating Accident at Table Rock Lake NEWS US

TABLE ROCK LAKE — A six-year-old boy from  Carthage was killed in a boating accident Friday morning in Clevenger Cove at Table Rock Lake south of Hollister.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the boy was riding a kneeboard behind a 1999 Maxum open motorboat heading north bound, driven by Bethany L. Roy, 31,

The boy fell off the kneeboard and as Roy was attempting to return to retrieve him, the boy swam towards the back of the boat and was caught by the propellor while it was still in reverse.

He was pronounced deceased at 11:09 a.m. by Taney County Deputy Coroner Elijah Goodwin. Next of kin has been notified.
