The Coast Guard rescued a woman off the Sebastian Inlet after she suffered a heatstroke on Tuesday.

A rescue crew stationed in Fort Pierce came to help the 58-year-old woman aboard a rowboat, the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) said.

The woman was roughly 18 miles off the coast, the USCG said. When she was brought back to shore, the woman was handed over to emergency medical services in stable condition.

The rescue comes after record-breaking heat hit most of the U.S., according to the National Weather Service (NWS).

Weather across South Florida has reached highs in the lower 90s, with additional humidity making it feel like the triple digits outside.
