Kim Kardashian reacts to Ivanka Trump’s Taylor Swift-themed birthday cake

Kim Kardashian will never be able to escape Taylor Swift.

On Thursday, Ivanka Trump posted a birthday tribute for her daughter, Arabella, on Instagram, featuring a cake modeled after the one from Swift’s “Blank Space” music video.

Kardashian, 43, commented on the Swiftie-themed post, despite past issues with the singer.

“Happy Birthday Arabella,” Kardashian commented on the July 17 Instagram post, keeping it short and sweet.

Trump, 42, is the daughter of former President Donald Trump. She posted a series of pictures, including one of Arabella smiling with the cake that reads “Boys only want love if it’s torture.”

She captioned one of the shots, “Best cake for my favorite Swiftie.”

“Arabella, you inspire and amaze me every day,” Trump added in the post’s caption. “You are a remarkable young woman and my heart overflows with love for you. Happy Birthday!”

Interestingly, Kardashian, who also liked the post, has a complicated relationship with Swift, 34.

Their fallout dates far back to 2016, when a leaked phone call between Swift and Kardashian’s then-husband Kanye West surfaced. West’s song “Famous” contained vulgar lyrics about Swift, and the leaked phone call made it look like she had consented to it, which she claimed she did not.

In her 2023 Time Person of the Year interview, Swift reflected on the impact of the scandal.

“You have a fully manufactured frame job, in an illegally recorded phone call, which Kim Kardashian edited and then put out to say to everyone that I was a liar,” she said at the time.

“That took me down psychologically to a place I’ve never been before. I moved to a foreign country. I didn’t leave a rental house for a year. I was afraid to get on phone calls. I pushed away most people in my life because I didn’t trust anyone anymore. I went down really, really hard.”

Swift’s latest album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” contains a song titled “thanK you aIMee,” where the capital letters spell out a certain name — Kim.

The musician often hides Easter eggs in her lyrics via capitalization, and this track in particular is full of secret messages, hinting at someone who is like a high school bully.

Swifties speculate it’s about Kardashian, given their past.

In the song, Swift describes a “bronze spray-tanned statue” of “Aimee” with a “plaque underneath it that threatens to push me down the stairs at our school.”

She mentions her mother, Andrea Swift, noting: “Everyone knows that my mother is a saintly woman/ But she used to say she wished that you were dead.”

On “thanK you aIMee,” Swift concludes: “And one day, your kid comes home singin’ a song that only us two is gonna know is about you.”

Despite their ongoing feud, Kardashian has claimed she listens to Swift.

Kardashian and ex-husband West share North, 10, Saint, 8, Chicago, 6, and Psalm, 4.

Swift and West’s fallout, meanwhile, began in 2009 when he famously interrupted Swift’s acceptance speech at the MTV Video Music Awards. The ups-and-downs continued in 2016, after the drama surrounding “Famous” and Kardashian posting the allegedly edited phone call video.

In 2019, Kardashian said on “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen” that the feud had ended, but the full phone exchange between West and Swift was released one year later — seemingly revealing Swift was telling the truth.

“The video showed nothing new. We all knew that. I’m so confused right now,” Kardashian tweeted at the time.

Swift, meanwhile, directly shared a message on her Instagram Stories in response.

“Instead of answering those who are asking how I feel about the video footage that leaked, proving that I was telling the truth the whole time about that call (you know, the one that was illegally recorded, that somebody edited and manipulated in order to frame me and put me, my family and fans through hell for 4 years) … swipe up to see what really matters,” she wrote.
